Once upon a time there was a Liberal Party, which had a Young Liberal organisation which it could not control! At the time the leading lights were people like Gordon Lishman, Ruth Addison, Peter Hain (hiss, boo). It was as dangerous to the status quo as the goings on of the Queen’s sister. Only one got negative publicity, the other a pretty free ride. It was fun and I joined.

We need more radicals to poke sticks into the cages of the establishment, our own included.

Mine is an old voice. Where the hell are the stick yielding radicals when you need them?
